REGISTER TO VOTE: Any Langara College student can vote on which blogs should get how much cash award each week -- email your mylangara email address to mark[at]votermedia.org, and we'll email you a voting link once a week.

Dates: From September 9, 2008 until probably at least February 2009. First award will be when we get at least 10 votes.

Bloggers: Win weekly cash prizes by writing a blog for Langara College students! Anyone can enter their blog or other media (newspaper, radio station etc.). There's no entry fee. Just email Mark Latham (mark[at]votermedia.org) your blog's URL or other description, and say you agree to the contest terms. It's easy to create a blog with free tools like WordPress or Blogger.

Award Pool: Starting at $120 a week if only 3 contestants. We plan to raise the pool to $200 a week as we get more entries.

Ballot: Will be similar to the Vancouver Election Blog Awards ballot. Vote counting method described here.

Judging Criteria: Voters can evaluate contestants any way they choose. Contestants can appeal to voters any way they choose.

Langara Students Union is coordinating with VoterMedia.org founder Mark Latham, who is sponsoring and administering this contest. Our goals are to promote student awareness and engagement in LSU issues and elections. Contest liaison is LSU External Affairs Coordinator Chris Vincent.
